Cacao + Song Circle - Berkeley

1545 Dwight Way, Berkeley, CA 94703-1838,

Join us for an intimate afternoon gathering to connect with our hearts and voices through sacred music and ceremonial cacao (optional). This gentle yet powerful plant medicine from Central America has been used for years by indigenous cultures. Together, we’ll open our hearts, shift consciousness, and nurture community, while deepening connections to ourselves, each other, and the planet.

This will be a co-created experience, so anyone is welcome to share a song or another offering.

MAGGIE TAURICK is a yogini, designer, and carrier of sacred sound. She has been practicing yoga for over 12 years and is forever a student, constantly deepening her practice and exploring ways to integrate it further into her life. This exploration has led her to the unique combination of sound and cacao, which she became immersed in while living in Guatemala. With the help of these tools, she guides students to recognize the infinite wisdom within them; bringing more intention, freedom, and awareness to their daily lives.

SENA SHELLENBERGER is a carrier of cacao medicine, ceremonialist and people empowerer. She builds deeper pathways to self-acceptance, self-worth and self-love through ceremony, sound, yoga, meditation, plant medicine and coaching. She’s here to support our shift into heart-centered living and is passionate about creating safe, nurturing spaces for collective healing. She leads women’s circles, cacao ceremonies, international retreats and an online course about cacao.

ABOUT CACAO: Traditionally, cacao has been used shamanically by the ancient Mayan and Aztec cultures; it has been rightly called the "Food of the Gods", bringing re-membrance of our divinity. The spiritual energy of cacao brings a subtle heart-opening and activation of the higher energy centers, making it ideal for spiritual exploration and multi-dimensional communication. As a loving partner, cacao assists us in personal and planetary healing in the light of the highest good.

We'll be serving Heirloom Belize Mayan Spice Cacao straight from three hundred indigenous Q’eqchi’ and Mopan Maya families in southern Belize. With added cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cayenne this cacao will uplift our hearts and get our energy moving for a soulful, vital experience.

RESERVE A SPOT: Please send a donation of $10-20 or contact us in advance if you'd like to arrange an exchange.
